Warning System
All of the lamps in the warning and functional lamp groups should illuminate when the start switch is in the RUN position. The warning horn should sound for a few seconds as the engine is started. Once the engine has started and is operating normally, the horn and all of the lamps in the warning lamp group should be off. Problem: Warning lights do not illuminate when start switch is turned to the RUN position. Probable Cause:* Alternator circuit breaker is open (tripped).* Disconnect switch is in OFF position or has failed.* Battery voltage is inadequate (13 volts required).* Gauge panel fuse is open (blown).* Key start switch fuse is open (blown).* Main relay has failed.* Open or short circuit in warning system harness.* Key start switch has failed.* Warning lamp group has failed. Problem: All warning lights remain lit when engine is running, warning horn DOES NOT sound during engine start-up. Probable Cause:* Engine oil pressure switch (1034977) failed in open position.* Open circuit in engine oil pressure switch harness. Problem: All warning lights remain lit when engine is running, warning horn DOES sound during engine start-up. Probable Cause:* Latching relay has failed.* Open circuit in latching relay or warning lamp group harness.* Warning lamp group has failed. Problem: Engine oil pressure lamp does not turn off when engine oil pressure is normal. Probable Cause:* Engine oil pressure switch (1070611) has failed in closed position.* Engine oil pressure relay has failed.* A short to ground exists in engine oil pressure and/or relay harness.* Warning lamp group has failed. Problem: Engine coolant temperature lamp does not turn off when coolant temperature is okay. Probable Cause:* Engine coolant temperature switch has failed in open position.* Engine coolant temperature relay has failed.* An open circuit exists in engine coolant temperature switch and/or relay harness.* Warning lamp group has failed. Problem: Hydraulic oil temperature lamp does not turn off when hydraulic oil is normal. Probable Cause:* Hydraulic oil temperature switch has failed in open position.* Hydraulic oil temperature relay has failed.* An open circuit exists in hydraulic oil temperature switch and/or relay harness.* Warning lamp group has failed. Problem: Hydraulic charge pressure lamp does not turn off at correct charge pressure (1400 kPa [203 psi]). Probable Cause:* Hydraulic oil charge pressure switch has failed in open position.* Hydraulic oil charge pressure relay has failed.* An open circuit exists in charge pressure switch and/or relay harness.* Warning lamp group has failed. Problem: Warning horn sounds when start switch is in RUN position and engine is not running. Probable Cause:* Diode assembly failure.Engine Speed Control Circuit
When the engine speed control switch is in the LOW IDLE position, the solenoid is de-activated and the governor control spring holds the governor lever against the low idle stop. When the start switch is in the ON or RUN position and the engine speed control switch is in the high idle position, the solenoid is activated. Problem: Engine speed does not increase above low idle.
