(7) Right slider track. (8) Left slider track. (9) Scissor arm. (10) Rack. (11) Shock absorber. (12) Cable assembly for shock absorber adjustment. The suspension of the seat performs several functions:
Isolation
Automatic Weight Adjustment
Height Adjustment
Connection to the SeatIsolation and Weight Adjustment
The air bag (3) acts as a spring when the air is compressed. This action is due to the motion of inner scissor arm (9) relative to lower housing (5). The amount of air that is in the air bag is determined by the operator. (Refer to "Height Adjustment".) The pressure in the air bag is determined by the weight of the operator. This feature will provide automatic weight adjustment.Damping Adjustment
Up / Down Lever Adjustment

Ride firmness is adjusted by lever (14). Push lever down to increase ride firmness, and pull up to decrease. Release the lever at one of several positions.Ride Zone Indicator
Use Ride Zone Indicator (13) to determine if the suspension is adjusted too high or low. Adjust suspension height until the black line is in the middle of the indicator window.Height Adjustment
Using the Air Valve
Illustration 5 g02782156
The height of the seat is determined by the volume of air in air bag (21). To raise the suspension, the operator presses rocker switch (19) left and air enters air bag (21). To lower the suspension, the operator presses rocker switch (19) right and the air in air bag (21) is released.Note: The operator must not change the height of the suspension so that the stroke is inadequate for the particular application. The suspension height must be changed if the seat bottoms out excessively or if the seat bounces to the maximum height too much. When rocker switch (19) is pressed left, a 24 V circuit to compressor (20) is completed. Compressor (20) provides pressurized air to air bag (21) .When rocker switch (19) is pressed right, the exhaust port is opened.Connection to the Seat
Illustration 6 g02782076
Right slider track (7) and left slider track (8) connect the seat assembly to the suspension. Rack (10) provides the connection to the fore and aft adjuster on the seat. The suspension has four sliders. The sliders determine the effort that is required to move the seat. After the seat is installed, the sliders require adjustment. The sliders are adjusted from the side of the seat that faces the access door of the machine. Use the following procedures in order to adjust the sliders.
Illustration 7 g00883180
The two sliders (17) are located on each side of the suspension (16). The sliders that are located near the access door for the cab have adjustment screws (18) .
Access holes are provided in the sides of the seat assembly. Move the seat until the access holes are in line with the sliders.
Tighten the adjustment screws in the sliders. Move the seat. A resistance of approximately 9 kg (20 lb) should be felt.
Adjust screws (18), as needed.
