Bend the tab on lock (3) down. Use tool (A) to remove nut (1) from the gear.2. Remove bolts (4) that hold adapter (2) in place on the torque converter housing. 3. Use tooling (B) and remove the gear from adapter (2). 4. Remove bearing cone (5) from adapter (2).5. Remove adapter (2) from the torque converter housing. 6. Remove bearing cup (6) and seal (7) from the adapter. 7. Remove spacer (8) and bearing cup (9) from the adapter. 8. Remove gear (10) from the torque converter housing. 9. Remove spacer (11) from the gear. 10. Use tooling (C) to remove bearing cone (12) from the gear as shown.Assemble Torque Converter Pump Drive Gears
1. Heat bearing (1) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F) and install it on gear (3). 2. Install ring (2) on gear (3) as shown.3. Put gear (3) in position in the torque converter housing as shown. 4. Install spacer (4) and bearing cup (6) in adapter (5). 5. Install bearing cup (7) in adapter (5).6. Install seal (8) on adapter (5) and put it in position on the torque converter housing as shown. 7. Heat bearing (9) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F) and install it in the adapter as shown. 8. Install lock (10) and nut (11) on the gear. Use tool (A) to tighten nut (11).9.
