Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin. Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work.
1. Drain the oil from the engine into a suitable container. The capacity of the engine is 26 liters (6.8 U.S. gal). When removing the oil pan be sure not to damage the suction tube.2. Remove fourteen bolts, washers, isolators, and isolator sleeves (1). Remove oil pan (2) and its gasket. The following steps are for the installation of the oil pan.3. Clean the oil pan and the engine block surface of any dirt or debris. Inspect the gasket for wear or damage and replace as necessary.4. Position the gasket and oil pan (2), and secure with fourteen bolts, washers, isolators, and isolator sleeves (1). Torque bolts evenly.5. Fill the engine to the proper level with the specified engine oil.
