Illustration 1 g01424352Use the following procedure in order to adjust the compressor housing, the turbine housing, and the bearing housing during installation of the turbocharger:
Loosen the clamp assemblies (1) enough to allow the housings to rotate.
Position the housings so that there is no binding in the air pipes, exhaust pipes, or oil lines that connect to the turbocharger. Do not tighten the mounting bolts for the turbocharger at this time.
Torque the clamp assemblies to 14 1 N m (125 9 lb in).
Gently hit around the clamp assemblies with a soft hammer.
Again torque the clamp assemblies to 14 1 N m (125 9 lb in). Note: Apply 4C-5599 Anti-Seize Compound on the washer face and the threads of the mounting bolts for the turbocharger before assembly. (2) Torque for four locknuts ... 55 9 N m (41 7 lb ft)
