Component Code(s) 5070,5073,3213 SUBJECT: THE PARKING BRAKE IS ENGAGING WHILE THE MACHINE IS OPERATING WITH A LOW ENGINE RPM
PROBLEM: Some CB-214D, CB-224D, and CB-225D Asphalt Compactors may experience a low charge pressure. The low charge pressure may cause the parking brakes to engage while the machine is operating with a low engine rpm. The cause for this problem is currently under investigation.
Note: Not all machines are affected by this problem.
SOLUTION:
A minimum charge pressure of 250 PSI is required in order to release the parking brakes in the front propel motors and the rear propel motors. The charge pressure should not drop below 250 PSI during low engine idle speed. Adjust the charge pressure to a minimum of 250 PSI at low idle. The oil temperature should reach a minimum of 100 (F) degrees before you adjust the charge pressure. Also, the normal charge pressure is set for 290 PSI at high engine idle speed. The charge pressure should not exceed 330 PSI during high engine idle speed.
Note: The solution that is listed above is a temporary fix to the problem. A permanent solution is under investigation.
