This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8633" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Certain 322 and 325 Excavators equipped with 3116 Engines may experience hard starting when the engine is warm. Service Letter PS8492 addressed this problem by providing series fuel filters and a new governor with over fueling capability. A new control kit and wiring harness change will provide automatic cycling of the governor lever during starting to assure the new governor over fueling feature works properly.
This program will only benefit machines that have been reworked with the larger priming pump, series filters and new governor (PS8492-Category A) or machines that have these changes in effect from the factory (Category B).

Exchanging the Controller ROM
1. Turn the key switch and disconnect switch off.2. Remove the 40-pin and 24-pin connectors from the controller with a 4.0 mm hex wrench.3. Remove the controller from the machine by loosening the four 8T4189 Bolts using 13 mm hex socket. Change the controller ROM in an area free of dust and moisture.
4. Remove the sixteen controller cover mounting bolts, use a 10 mm socket. Remove the cover gently to avoid damaging the inner wires. The cover cannot be fully raised (see Illustration 1).
5. Remove the cover gasket and discard. The service person should be grounded before removing or installing the ROM by touching a metal table, metal stand, or similar.
6. Remove the holders from the ROM, the holders will slide off the ends of the ROM (see Illustration 2).7. Use a ROM extractor tool to remove the ROM.8. Use the ROM extraction tool to install the new ROM. Align the notch in the ROM with the notch in the circuit board socket (see Illustration 2). The ROM pins need to be at a right angle to the ROM body to install. If needed, bend the ROM pins as shown in Illustration 3.
