Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Position the draft frame to the scraper bowl. The draft frame weighs 2725 kg (6008 lb). Position cap assembly (16) to the draft frame. Install four bolts (15) that secure cap assembly (16) to the draft frame. Repeat the procedure for the other side of the draft frame.

Make sure that the draft frame is securely placed on suitable cribbing, as shown. Remove the tooling from the draft frame.

Slowly move and carefully move the bowl cylinder toward the draft frame. Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (14) to the draft frame. Install bar (13) , the washers and two bolts (12) that secure pin (13) to the draft frame.

Position the O-ring seals and two hose assemblies (11) to carry-check valve (9) . Install four half flanges, the washers and eight bolts (10) that secure two hose assemblies (11) to carry-check valve (9) . Connect the O-ring seals and two hose assemblies (8) to carry-check valve (9) .

Position the wiring harness to the draft frame. Install all of the wire ties that secure wiring harness (7) to the draft frame. Connect wiring harness (7) to the draft frame.

Connect the O-ring seals and three hose assemblies (5) to scraper bowl (6) . Repeat the procedure for the other side.

Connect the O-ring seals and two hose assemblies (4) to elevator motor (3) . Position the O-ring seals and two hose assemblies (2) to elevator motor (3) . Install four half flanges, the washers and eight bolts (1) that secure two hose assemblies (2) to elevator motor (3) .End By: Connect the tractor and the scraper.
