Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician
The Caterpillar Electronic Technician service tool is used in order to access the calibration procedures. For more information, refer to the manual that was provided with the ET.The calibration menu is used in order to compensate for the differences in the mechanical components and the electrical components. The calibration should be performed if the ECM has been replaced or the ECM was removed. The calibration should be performed if components have been replaced or removed. Perform all calibrations that are applicable.Accessing Calibrations
Connect the ET to the machine. After communication has been established, the ET will list the electronic control modules that are on the machine.
Select the Power Train ECM.

Select "Service" from the main menu.
Select "Calibrations" from the drop-down menu. The following is a list of all possible calibrations. The specific calibrations will differ across sales models.
"Transmission Clutch Fill"
"FNR Sensor"
"Brake Touchup"
"Steer Position Sensor"
Select the desired calibration procedure from the fly out window.

Press the "Home Menu" button.
Press the down arrow until the "Service" line on the menu is highlighted.

From the "Service" menu, scroll to "Service Password".
Press the "OK" button.

The Advisor will display "Service Mode is Disabled". Press "OK" in order to access the password entry screen.
At the password entry screen, press "OK" in order to enter the password.

Enter the password. Note: Caterpillar sets the last four digits of the machine serial number as the password.
Scroll to the right or left in order to select the desired number.
Press "OK" in order to insert the number.
Repeat steps 8.a and 8.b for the remaining three digits.
Scroll to" Accept" and press "OK".

When the Service Mode is enabled, press the "BACK" button in order to return to the Service Menu. Note: Calibrations will now be a selectable item from the menu.

Make sure that the power train oil is 60 °C (140 °F) or higher.
Select "Left Brake Touch-Up Pressure Cal" from the menu.
