Remove Tilt Linkage Plates
Remove Tilt Linkage
Remove Kickout and Positioner
Remove Tilt Cylinder
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove couplers (1). Remove clamps (2) and hoses (3).

Remove fittings (6). Remove clamps (5) and position hoses (4) out of the way.

Raise lift arms and install Tooling (A) under the cross member of the lift arms.

Remove bolts (8) with washers and plate (7).

Attach a suitable lifting device to lift cylinder (10).
Remove pin (9) and lower the lift cylinder on to suitable cribbing. Repeat for the opposite side.

Remove bolts (12) with washers and plate (11).

The weight of the lift arms is approximately 470 kg (1037 lb). Attach a suitable lifting device to lift arms (13).
Remove pins (14).
Remove the lift arms.

Use Tooling (B) to remove the bearings in the middle of the lift arms.

Use Tooling (C) to remove the bearings from the top and bottom of the lift arms.
