(1) Choker-Style Fabric Basket (1a) Choker Sling
Inspect choker-style fabric basket (1) before each use. If damage is found, discontinue use and destroy immediately. Refer to the Section ""Inspection"" in this manual for inspection guidelines.Note: For clarity, the illustrations in this manual do not show all eight fabric basket choker loops. Make sure that choker sling (1a) is inserted through all eight loops on fabric basket (1), including the loop it is anchored to.

(1) Choker-Style Fabric Basket (1a) Choker Sling
Use one of the following two methods to remove worn bucket tooth (2) from fabric basket (1) :
With tooth (2) supported on blocks, get help to carefully slide fabric basket (1) around bucket tooth (2). being careful not to damage the fabric basket and/or choker sling (1a) .
Attach lifting device to retainer pin hole in bucket tooth (2). Use a suitable clevis and/or chain, dealer supplied. Use lifting device (5) to raise the tooth slightly off the ground and slide fabric basket (1) up over the bucket tooth. Tighten choker sling (1a) around the bucket tooth and then carefully lower the bucket tooth and fabric bag onto blocks on the ground. Once secure, disconnect the lifting device from the bucket tooth retainer pin hole.Note: Make sure to position fabric basket (1) so the retainer hole is exposed to allow retainer pin (3) installation without damaging the fabric basket.
Attach suitable lifting device (5) to choker sling (1a) lifting loop.

Use lifting device (5) to raise fabric basket (1) and position bucket tooth over tooth adapter and align it with retainer pin hole.
Make sure that the choker sling and basket are still snug and able to support the bucket tooth. Use normal procedures and tooling to completely install retainer pin (3) .
After retainer pin (3) has been completely installed, loosen choker sling (1a) and slide fabric basket (1) off bucket tooth (2) .
Store 149-0173 Choker-Style Fabric Basket in a clean, dry location to prevent weathering and possible damage.Inspection

The 149-0173 Choker-Style Fabric Basket loses strength from normal wear or physical damage due to misuse. Regular inspections help spot early signs of deterioration. If at all in doubt, the fabric basket must be destroyed.Note: All equipment should be examined by one person only.
Lay the fabric basket on a flat surface in a well lit area.
Make sure that the load identification label is securely attached and legible.
Examine both the exterior and interior of the basket. Inspect basket webbing and loops. Inspect the choker sling and lifting loop. Inspect the inside of the loop for any sign of wear or damage.
Check for surface chafe, cuts in the webbing or fabric, damaged stitching or seams, and any damage or wear to the lifting loops.
Check for signs of damage from exposure to harsh chemicals or extreme heat.
Immediately destroy worn or damaged fabric baskets.Note: Refer to the Section ""Damage Causes and Results"" in this manual
