Illustration 1 g06285912All C175 machine engines ship from the factory Clean Fuel Module (CFM) ready. If an engine is to be used in a truck that elected not to update to the clean fuel module, certain modifications are required to ensure that engine is compatible with the non-CFM truck.The configuration screen in Cat® Electronic Technician (ET) must be updated to show "Electric Fuel Transfer Pump" as not installed. Also, the Engine Interface Connector changed from a 40-pin to a 70-pin connection on CFM equipped engines and trucks.Reference: Service Magazine, M0064702, An Updated Left Side Engine Harness Connector is Now Used in Certain 793F, 793F CMD, 793F AC, 795F AC, and 797F Off-Highway Trucks for information on converting the 40-pin chassis connection to the new 70-pin connector.Table 1 shows the standard parts on a CFM-ready engine.
