Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
Drain the engine oil from the engine oil coolers. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
Disconnect the harness assembly for the engine oil temperature sensor from the engine oil cooler.

Remove tube and elbow assembly (2). Remove tube assembly (1). Remove elbow assembly (3). Remove the O-ring seals.

Remove tube assembly (4) and (5). Remove the O-ring seals.

Remove manifold and tube assembly (7). Remove the O-ring seals. Remove bolt (6) and position the bracket out of the way.

Remove bolt (9) and position the clip out of the way. Attach a suitable lifting device to engine oil coolers (7). The weight of engine oil coolers (7) is approximately 263 kg (580 lb). Remove bolts (8) and remove engine oil coolers (7). Installation Procedure
Install engine oil coolers (7) in the reverse order of removal.
