START BY:a. remove fan The radiator and radiator guard are removed for better photo illustration of the vibration damper and pulley. 1. Put pressure on top of the fan belt tightener with a prybar. With pressure on the fan belt tightener, remove vee belts (3) from the pulleys.2. Remove vee belts (1) and (2) from the alternator and the air conditioner compressor. See Remove Alternator And Remove Air Conditioner Compressor. 3. Remove bolts (5) and pulley (4) from the adapter. 4. Remove one of the bolts that hold vibration damper (8) to adapter (9). Install tool (A) and a hoist in its place.5. Remove bolts (7), vibration damper (8) and adapter (9) as a unit from the crankshaft. The weight of the vibration damper and adapter is 63 kg (138 lb.).6. If necessary, remove bolts (6) and adapter (9) from vibration damper (8).Install Vibration Damper And Pulley
1. Put vibration damper (1) in position on adapter (3) and install bolts (2) that hold the unit together. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb.ft.). One bolt of bolts (2) must be left out so tool (A) can be installed.2. Install tool (A) and a hoist on vibration damper and pulley (1) as shown. Put vibration damper and pulley (1) in position and install the bolts that hold it.3. Remove tool (A) and install remaining bolt (2). Tighten the bolt to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb.ft.). 4. Install a 1/2"-13 NC guide bolt (5) into the adapter.5. Put pulley (4) into position on the adapter and install the bolts that hold it. 6. Install vee belts (6) and (7) on the alternator and the air conditioner compressor. See Install Alternator and Install Air Conditioner Compressor.7. Use a pry bar and put pressure on the fan belt tightener and install vee belts (8) on the pulleys.END BY:a. install fan
