When the oscillation drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the front, center, intermediate and rear drive shafts. Be sure all joint groups, yokes and lubrication fittings (front, center, oscillation, intermediate and rear) are in alignment with each other.
1. Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to drive shaft (6) and carrier assembly (3).2. Apply 5P-3931Anti-Seize Compound to the machined face of carrier assembly (3) and position the drive shaft and carrier assembly in the oscillation housing. Install six bolts (5) and the washers. 3. Connect grease line (7) to the center bearing housing.Apply 4C-9507Compound to the threads of bolt (1) prior to assembly. Install yoke and dirt guard (2), the O-ring seal, the retainer plate and bolt (1). Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 480 50 N m (350 37 lb ft).5. Install yoke and dirt guard (4). End By:a. Install the center drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive shaft (Center) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.b. Install the intermediate drive shaft and drive shaft carrier bearing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Intermediate) and Drive Shaft Carrier Bearing - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.c. Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
