Remove the piston pump.

Remove screws (5) and (2). Remove compensator valve (4) from housing (3). Remove port block (1).

Remove O-ring seal (6) from port block (1). Remove plate (9). Remove bearing cone (10) from shaft (7). Remove O-ring seal (8) from housing (3).

Remove shim (11) from shaft (7). Remove plug (12) and the O-ring seal.

Remove the rotating group from housing (3). Turn the rotating assembly upside-down. Slowly lift housing (3) off the rotating group.Note: Mark the location of pistons for assembly purposes.
Remove plate (15) and pistons (14) from barrel (16). Remove bearing (13).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to compress spring (18) until the retaining ring (17) can be removed from barrel (16) with Tooling (B). Slowly release the pressure on the suitable press because of the spring pressure. Remove barrel (16) from the suitable press. Remove spring (18), retaining disc (19), and pressure pins (20).

Remove piston (21).
Illustration 8 g01844369Note: The rod is engaged in the socket by the edges of the socket. Extreme care must be used to disengage the rod from the socket. Remove the actuator rod out of the smooth shaped socket.
Angle the swashplate (22) so rod (23) extends out of the bore. Remove rod (23) from the socket in swashplate (22). Remove swashplate (22). Check the condition of the socket.

Remove spring (26). Remove screws (25) and remove bearings (24).
Lift shaft (7) out of the housing. If necessary, press bearing (24) off shaft (7).

Use Tooling (C) to remove retaining ring (27). Remove lip seal (28).
