If correct rear end oil seal is installed, then install the inspection plug or install inspection plate. No further service action is necessary.
If confirmed that engine has incorrect seal then replace with a new replacement rear end oil seal.

The rear end oil seal needs to be inspected, and, if identified as incorrect, replaced on the products listed below. The existing rear end oil seal can leak. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 24Aug2018 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
Inspection process;
For Compact Wheel loaders to verify if correct rear end oil seal is installed, a borescope can be used. Point of entry for the borescope will be the inspection plug on the flywheel housing. Refer to Image 1.1.1. showing location of the inspection plug on flywheel housing.
For Backhoe Loaders to verify if correct rear end oil seal is installed, a borescope can be used. Point of entry for the borescope will be the inspection plate on the bottom of the flywheel housing. Refer to Image 1.1.2 showing inspection plate removed from flywheel housing.
To identify whether the rear end oil seal is defective refer to Image 1.1.3 Good/Bad Seal.
If a dust shield is visible, then the correct rear end oil seal is installed.
If a dust shield is not visible, then replace the rear end oil seal.
