The guard is heavy. Personal injury or death may result from being struck by or trapped under the guard. Do not allow anyone to work near or under the machine when the guard is being raised or lowered.
Do not operate the machine with the guard in the lowered position. Damage to the machine or actuator could result.
Note: Use caution around potential pinch points. Be alert for possible movement of the guard.Note: Do not place any part of your body under the bottom guard unless the mounting hardware is installed. Make sure that the jack is in the proper location and giving proper support to the guard before the mounting hardware is loosened.Note: The bottom guard may contain a significant amount of rock, dirt, liquids, and debris, which will result in significant additional weight.Power Guard Control Operation
The power guard control opens the power train bottom guard and the crankcase bottom guard for cleaning.

The power guard control is located in the tool box on the left rear side of the machine.Note: The instruction film for the power guard control will be located in the tool box on the inside of the lid.

    Raise the Guard.     Pull (1B)     Raise with a jack or a come-along. Use (1B) in center position.

Position a jack under the guard that is to be lowered. The head of the jack should be touching the guard.
Stay clear of the area beneath the guard. Remove the retaining bolts from the guard.
Lower the jack 25 mm (1 inch).
If the guard lowers completely with the jack, the actuator has possibly failed. Use the jack to support the guard and lower the guard to the ground. If the guard remains in place above the jack, remove the jack and move the control into the correct position for the correct guard.ReferenceRefer to illustration 5 for the correct control, and table 1 for the correct position of the control.
Lower the guard to the lowest position.Raising the Bottom Guard
Move the control in the correct position in order to raise the guard. Stay clear of the area beneath the guard.
Position a jack under the guard prior to replacing the retaining bolts. The head of the jack should be touching the guard.
Install the retaining bolts and tighten the retaining bolts properly.
