The 159-7640 Oscillating Axle Housingmay crack on certain 826G, 826G Series II, and 826H Landfill Compactorsoperating in severe duty applications. The cracks will be found at thetwo ports on either side of the differential carrier, or just above orbelow the two ports (See Illustration). If cracked and not replaced othercomponents will be damaged from oil loss or a complete housing failure.AFFECTED PRODUCT

During normal machine service, check therear axle housing oil level and inspect for any oil leaks near the twoports. If oil is low and/or oil leakage is found remove the guarding andclean the housing to determine if there are any cracks.
