Rework Procedure
Refer to RENR8867, "Disassembly and Assembly for IT62H Integrated Toolcarrier and 950H and 962H Wheel Loaders Power Train" for disassembly and assembly procedures for 950H, 962H, and IT62H machines.
Refer to RENR8847, "Disassembly and Assembly for 966H and 972H Wheel Loaders Power Train" for disassembly and assembly procedures for 966H Wheel Loaders.
Before Failure Rework Procedure
1. Remove torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
2. Separate torque converter, transmission, and output transfer group.
3. Disassemble the transmission to access the 9G-1234 Springs in clutch #5. Only disassemble the transmission far enough to replace the 9G-1234 Springs.
4. Replace the 9G-1234 Springs with 5 new springs. Only use springs that have the part number stamped in white ink. Replace the piston seals on the #5 clutch piston.
5. Reassemble the transmission.
6. Reconnect the torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
7. Reinstall torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
After Failure Rework Procedure
1. Remove the torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
2. Separate the torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
3. Disassemble the torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
4. Clean and inspect components in the torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
5. Reassemble the transmission using 5 new 9G-1234 Springs. Only use springs that have the part number stamped in white ink.
6. Reassemble the torque converter and output transfer gear group.
7. Reconnect the torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group.
8. Clean all power train oil lines used for the torque converter, transmission, output transfer gear group, and power train filter lines.
9. Replace power train oil cooler core.
10. Reinstall torque converter, transmission, and output transfer gear group into machine.
11. Kidney loop the transmission system.
12. Replace the power train oil filter.
13. Replace the transmission modulating valves (if not replaced in an earlier step).
