Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal until the coolant is below the level of the water temperature regulator housing. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

Loosen clamp (4). Disconnect hose assembly (1). Remove bolts (2). Remove elbow (3).

Remove bolts (5) to disconnect elbow (6).
Remove bolts (7). Remove water temperature regulator (8).

Remove O-ring seals (9) and water temperature regulators (10) from water temperature regulator housing (11).
If necessary, remove lip seals (12).Installation Procedure

If necessary, use Tooling (A) to install lip seals (12).
Install water temperature regulators (10) and O-ring seals (9) in water temperature regulator housing (11).

Position water temperature regulator housing (8) on the engine. Install bolts (7).
Install bolts (5) to connect elbow (6).

Position elbow (3) and install bolts (3). Connect hose assembly (1). Tighten clamp (4) to a torque of 11 N m (97 lb in).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
