Left Side of Front Drum (1) Propulsion motor (2) Case drain line (3) Brake linePropulsion motor (1) is located on the left side of the front drum. A second propulsion motor is located on the right side of the rear drum. The propulsion motors are gerotor type motors with a fixed displacement. The propulsion motors drive a final drive unit that is single speed which drives the drum.On the standard machine and the extra wide machines, the front and rear propulsion motors are identical. These machines also use identical final drive units on the front and rear drums. On the full flush machines, the front propulsion motor is different from the rear propulsion motor. The final drive on the front drum of the full flush machine is also different from the final drive on the rear drum. The rear propulsion motor and the final drive unit are the same for the full flush machines and the rear propulsion motor and the final drive unit are the same for the standard machines. The front propulsion motor and the rear propulsion motor are connected in series. When the machine is operating in the forward direction, the propulsion pump supplies oil to the rear motor. Return oil from the rear propulsion motor is sent to the forward side of the front propulsion motor. When the machine is operating in the reverse direction, the propulsion pump supplies oil to the front motor. Return oil from the front motor is sent to the reverse side of the rear motor. The forward and reverse ports are located on the bottom face of the motor. Case drain line (2) is also located on the bottom face of the motor. The parking brake is equipped on both the front drum and the rear drum. The parking brakes are spring applied and hydraulically released. Charge oil is used to release the brakes. Brake line (3) is connected to the brake manifold.

Front drum on standard machine
Front drum on extra wide machines
Rear drum on standard machine
Rear drum on extra wide machines
Rear drum on full flush machineEach propulsion motor drives the drum through a final drive that is single speed. The components that are located inside the final drive are splash lubricated. The final drive housing acts as the oil reservoir. The output shaft of the propulsion motor is splined to the sun gear shaft inside the final drive housing. The sun gear shaft drives the sun gear in the planetary gear set. The sun gear drives the planetary gears. Since the planetary carrier is held by the final drive
