Primary Filter Element
1. Clean element when fuel gauge registers OUT with engine running.2. Unlatch and lift up right engine guard. 3. Loosen mounting bolt and remove filter housing and element. 4. Clean filter base and inspect gasket. Use new one if necessary.5. Remove element from housing and wash in clean solvent.6. Dry element with pressure air.
When using pressure air, wear safety face shield and protective clothing. Use 30 PSI (207 kPa) (2 kg/cm2) maximum pressure air for cleaning purposes.
7. Clean housing and install element. 8. Install element and housing. Start engine and check for leaks.Final Filter Element
1. Remove bolts from access cover on top of hood and open cover. 2. Open final filter drain valve and allow to drain. 3. Remove filter cover and element assembly. 4. Remove element retainers and remove elements. 5. Install new elements. Inspect cover gasket. Use new one if necessary.6. Clean filter housing.7. Close drain valve.8. Install elements and cover.9. Prime fuel system (see below).Priming the Fuel System
1. Open filter housing vent. 2. Open injector pump housing vent. 3. Operate pump until fuel flows from vent without bubbles. 4. Close filter housing vent. 5. Start engine and allow injector housing vent to bleed for 30 seconds. 6. Close injector pump housing vent.(42)Cooling System - Cleaning
Always inspect cooling system with engine stopped.To prevent possible personal injury, caused by steam, use caution when removing radiator filler cap. Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.Inhibitor contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent possible personal injury.
Never add coolant to an overheated engine, allow engine to cool first.
If a machine is to be stored in or shipped to an area with below freezing temperatures, refer to COOLING SYSTEM in the EVERY 2000 SERVICE HOURS OR 1 YEAR section.Whenever draining and refilling the cooling system, always observe the coolant level when the engine reaches normal operating temperature.Machine must be level, engine stopped and cool. 1. Turn radiator filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Remove filler cap. 2. Open radiator drain valve and allow coolant to drain. 3. Open coolant pump inlet drain valve and allow coolant to drain. 4. Remove torque converter oil cooler and oil cooler coolant supply line drain plugs. Allow coolant to drain. 5. Remove engine oil cooler drain plug and allow coolant to drain. 6. Remove engine block coolant drain plug (right side) and allow coolant to drain. 7. Remove engine block coolant drain plug (left side) and allow coolant to drain.
Use all cleaning solutions with care.
Most commercial cooling system cleaners may be used.8. Close drain valves and install all drain plugs. Fill cooling system with cleaning
