The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
Oil coolers may leak oil or coolant at the fluid line to oil cooler port connections.Due to oil cooler construction at the base of fittings, special care is required to ensure that effective torque is achieved without damaging the oil cooler. Also, improper torquing may lead to loose fitting connections or damaged connection base. The oil cooler JIC fitting connection type may be susceptible to loose particles contaminants that could compromise the joint sealing integrity.Solution
Replace the 391-8014 Heat Exchanger Gp with the same part.
Clean the JIC fluid connection components to remove all the loose particles contaminants on the fitting threads before reassembling.
Use pipe thread sealant tape to help achieve a better seal.
Grip the oil cooler with tooling effectively.Note: Do not damage the fluid connection port on the oil cooler when torquing the fluid lines.
Torque the smaller fittings to 70 N m (52 lb ft) and the larger fittings to 100 N m (74 lb ft).
