Before operating the UPS system, ensure all installation tasks are complete and the system has been commissioned by authorized service personnel. System commissioning verifies that the UPS was installed correctly and operates properly.
Refer to Special Instruction, RESH2467, "Unpacking Instructions for the UPS 1000S and 1200S" for unpacking instructions. Refer to Special Instruction, RESH2591, "Installation Instructions for the UPS 1000S and 1200S Uninterruptable Power Supply" for installation instructions.
Personal injury or death can result from high voltage.Moisture could create paths of electrical conductivity.Make sure the unit is off line (disconnected from utility and/or other generators), locked out and tagged "Do Not Operate".
Keyswitch Operation
The keyswitch is used to place each Energy Storage Unit in a specific operating state.Note: The keyswitch position should only be changed when instructed by a qualified service technician.The following operations are controlled by the keyswitch:Spindown/Offline - The flywheels coast down to zero RPM over an extended time period. The load is not protected from outages.On-Line - The flywheels motor up to speed based on commands from the UPS module. The load is protected when the flywheels are above appropriate RPMs.Reset - May be used by qualified service personnel to test the Energy Storage Unit when performing maintenance on the unit or to restart a flywheel that has shutdown due to error.Auto Load and Start
Auto Load and Start determines what the UPS does at power up after a complete discharge and loss of input power to the UPS.Auto Load and Start Configuration
Auto Load and Start is a software configurable operating parameter that determines UPS behavior when power is first applied to the input following an exhaustive discharge of stored electrical energy.Note: Auto Load and Start configurations can only be changed by qualified service personnel.

2     Auto Load On Auto Start     UPS automatically goes into Bypass Mode, then goes to On-line Mode when power is first applied to the input. Manual operation is not required to bring the UPS online.    Bringing the UPS to the Online Status
The following steps describe bringing the UPS online when the Auto Load and Start operating parameter is configured to 0 or 1 as described in the section "Auto Load and Start Configuration".Note: Depending on the Auto Load and Start operating setting, the UPS may go to the Online state automatically when power is applied to the UPS Main Input.
Apply facility power to the UPS Main Input and Maintenance Bypass Input.
