Pilot Pressure Sensor
The purpose of the pilot pressure sensor is to tell the machine ECM the actual pressure of the pilot system. This data is read and the pressure is calculated by the machine ECM and sent to the VIMS on the Cat datalink. The pressure is displayed in the VIMS message area. This allows the operator to view the value of the implement and swing pressures as they occur on the VIMS display.The ECM receives the PWM signal and measures the duty cycle to determine the pressure. A low duty cycle, such as 20%, corresponds to a low pressure. A high duty cycle, such as 80%, corresponds to a high pressure.On/Off Solenoid Valves

Hydraulic Demand Fan SolenoidThe hydraulic demand fan solenoid valve is an output of the machine ECM. The purpose of the solenoid valve is to modulate fan speed as determined by the ECM. The solenoid is the proportional type. The ECM uses a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to modulate the travel of the solenoid valve which controls the fan speed. The duty cycle of the PWM signal is varied according to hydraulic temperature and an internal fan speed map. When the temperature of the hydraulic system is high, the solenoid is de-energized (very little duty cycle) and the fan is at maximum spedd. During normal operating temperatures, the solenoid is energized and the duty cycle is varied accordingly. When the engine is not running, the solenoid is de-energized.The solenoid valve has a connector with two contacts. One contact receives the output signal from the ECM and the other contact returns the signal to the ECM at the solenoid return.Travel Alarm
Travel AlarmThe travel alarm is an output of the machine ECM. The purpose of the travel alarm is to alert surrounding personnel that the machine is moving. The ECM uses a +battery (approximately) signal to activate the travel alarm. After the alarm sounds for 10 seconds the operator may silence the alarm by pressing the alarm cancel switch.The travel alarm has two connection terminals. One terminal receives the output signal from the ECM and the other terminal returns the signal to the ECM at the solenoid return.Relays
