REWORK PROCEDURE
Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual,RENR4472, for complete disassembly and assembly procedures. Horseshoe plate drawing for PC205 repair. (Alldimensions mm) Horseshoe plate drawing for PC206 repair.(All dimensions mm) It is recommended that the plates aremade using either a Laser Cutting or Plasma Cutting process.Disassembly ProcedureRemove the right side plate as follows.
Attach a suitable lifting device to right plateassembly (15). The weight ofplate assembly (15) is approximately 64 kg(140 lb).
Remove bolts (7), washers (8), plate (9), bolts(10), washers (11), bolts (12), washers (13), plate (14), and plate assembly(15).
Remove the hydraulic hoses to the motor.
Remove fittings (1), (2), and (3) from the motorand be sure to cover the outlets to stop contamination.
Use a suitable lifting device to position thecold planer so that the right side faces upward. The weight of the coldplaner with the rear frame assembly is approximately 800 kg (1763 lb).
Attach Tooling (A, 138-7574) and a suitable liftingdevice to drum (16). The weight of drum (16) is approximately 153 kg (338lb).
Remove nuts (17) and drum (16) from the cold planer.
Attach a suitable lifting device to piston motor(1). The weight of piston motor (1) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).
Remove bolts (2) and the washers.
Remove piston motor (1).
Thoroughly clean the inner area of the frame wherethe repair plate is to be fitted. You need to remove all residue from theplanning process and all paint in the areas for welding.
Welding Procedure
Place the horseshoe plate as indicated above onthe inside of the frame
Tack weld 4 or 5 points that are of an equal distanceon the outside arc of the horseshoe plate.
Tack weld 4 or 5 points that are ofan equal distance on the inside arc of the horseshoe plate and inside the40mm holes.
Make a weld to the two straight sides of the horseshoeplate.
Make a weld in 3 equal distant strokes, about100 mm long, on the outside arc of the horseshoe plate.
Make welds in the 5, 40mm holes of the horseshoeplate.
Make a weld in 3 equal distant strokes, about100 mm long, on the inside arc of the horseshoe plate.
Complete the welding on the outside arc of thehorseshoe plate.
Complete the welding on the inside arc of thehorseshoe plate.
Allow the frame to cool for 5 to 6 hours.
Verify that the frame does not have any excessivedeformation on the outside. Use a bar to check the frame. Refer to theabove illustration.
Paint all areas of weld inside and outside offrame as required.
Reassemble the drum and motor. Install onto askid steer loader, and check the operation.
