Component Code(s) 7263, 1051SUBJECT: INCORRECT ALIGNMENT OF THE ENGINE ENCLOSURE GROUP AND THE AIR CLEANER INLET WILL CAUSE LOW ENGINE POWER
PROBLEM:
The engine enclosure group on the left hand side of the machine may be incorrect. If the wrong engine enclosure group is installed, the air inlet slots on the enclosure group will not line up with the air cleaner inlet. This improper alignment may cause low engine power.
Note: Tape that is applied to the exhaust stack during transportation should be removed before starting the engine. A new style exhaust system is used on machines that are listed above and machines that were manufactured after the serial numbers that are listed above. Damage to the air cleaner assembly can result from cranking the engine without removing the tape from the exhaust stack. This damage will result in low engine power.
SOLUTION:
Open the hood assembly. The 8T-2563 Seal on the air cleaner assembly should completely cover the air inlet slots that are on the 234-9066 Engine Enclosure Group. If the seal and the air inlet slots are not aligned correctly, replace the existing engine enclosure group with a new 234-9066 Engine Enclosure Group. Check the air cleaner assembly for damage.
