This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs.The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS52588" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the 14Jan2014 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product, Parts Needed, Service Claim Allowances, and Rework Procedure.

PROBLEM
The existing exhaust bellows can leak exhaust on certain C175-16 Petroleum Engines. If the existing exhaust bellows fail it will cause sooting and premature air filter clogging.

Rework Procedure
Prior to performing repair, review video "Replacing the Exhaust Bellows on C175 Engines" at https://dealer.cat.com/Service-Training/Instructional-Videos.
396-9127 Bellows Tool Assembly is required to replace bellows without disturbing exhaust manifolds.
Perform these steps to Group 1 & Group 2 for replacing the exhaust crossover bellows.
1) Remove air cleaners.

4) Use 396-9127 Bellows Tool Assembly to replace (4) cross over bellows. Lubricate threads of v-band clamps with Loctite C5A Copper Anti-Seize and
