Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Drain the hydraulic system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill" for the capacity of the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

Disconnect hose assembly (2), hose assembly (3), and hose assembly (4).

Cut cable strap (5).

Cut cable strap (7) and disconnect harness assembly (6). Disconnect harness assembly (9) and harness assembly (8).

Disconnect hose assembly (10 ) and disconnect hose assembly (11).

Remove two bolts (12) (not shown). Loosen bolts (13).

Position Tooling (A) under piston motor (14) in order to support piston motor (14). The weight of piston motor (14) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).
Remove bolts (13). Use Tooling (A) in order to lower piston motor (14) away from the machine.
