PROBLEM
A small percentage of early serial number H95E S hammers have experienced a crack between the main piston bore and the valve bore of the front head. If the bore for the valve is machined too close to the main bore of the front head, the cross section may be too small and can lead to a crack forming. Once a crack forms, the crack creates a leak path that affects proper hammer operation.
Symptoms include the hammer slowing down and stopping once operating temperature has been reached. Typically about 20 to 30 minutes. After unit is allow to cool down the hammer will operate properly.

ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the front head with a new head of the same part number. The bore for valve has been moved outboard to increase cross section between the main bore and the valve bore.
When replacing the front head special attention must be used when removing and installing the 369-1027 Valve Sleeve. Refer to UENR0479 for complete disassembly and assembly instructions.
