Clean the surface of engine oil pan (8) for gasket (9). Also clean the surface of the cylinder block that will contact the gasket. Install new gasket (9) .

Install Tooling (A) into each corner of the cylinder block.
Foreign objects in the oil pan can cause severe damage to the engine. Before you install the oil pan, inspect the inside of the oil pan for foreign objects such as tools, towels, debris, etc. Also look under the suction bell. Remove anything that should not be in the oil pan.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the engine lifting brackets. The weight of the engine without the engine oil pan is approximately 35530 kg (78330 lb). Attach a suitable lifting device to engine oil pan (8). The weight of engine oil pan (8) is approximately 870 kg (1918 lb). Lift the engine. Position the engine over the engine oil pan or move the engine oil pan under the engine. Slowly position Tooling (A) onto the engine oil pan or slowly lift the engine oil pan onto Tooling (A) .

Install bolts (7) and the washers that attach engine oil pan (8) to the engine. Remove Tooling (A). Install remaining bolts (7) and the washers.

Install cylinder block covers (6) .

Install a new O-ring seal for the joint between tube (3) and elbow (5). Install tube (3). Install one new O-ring seal for each side of flange (2). Install the flange between the tube and engine oil pump (4). Attach the flange to the engine oil pump with bolts (1) and the washers.
Refill the engine with engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".
Refill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
Connect the engine to any driven equipment. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Driven Equipment - Inspect/Replace/Lubricate".End By: Remove the engine lifting brackets. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Lifting Bracket - Remove and Install".
