Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Note: After you stop the engine, allow the engine to cool. The engine oil that is above the priority valve will drain past the priority valve into the engine oil pan.
Drain the engine oil from the engine oil filters into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".

Disconnect hose assembly (1). Cap the openings.
Remove bolt (2) and the washer. Move clamp (3) .

Remove tube (4). Remove the O-ring seals from the tube. Discard the O-ring seals.
Remove elbow (5). Remove the O-ring seals for the elbow. Discard the O-ring seals.
Remove bolts (6). Remove elbow (7). Remove the O-ring seals for the elbow. Discard the O-ring seals.

Attach a suitable lifting device to priority valve (9). The weight of priority valve (9) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove bolts (8). Remove priority valve (9) .

Remove O-ring seals (10) from the front housing.
