Position the machine on level ground.
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".

Connect a 60000 kPa (8700 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (1) .

Install the following tools in accordance with the flow meter tool layout. Refer to Illustration 2.
Assemble the basic flow meter and hoses.Note: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Flow Meter and Hose Setup (Basic)" for the procedure to assemble these parts.
Disconnect supply line (1) from the work tool.
Assemble and install nipple (6), seal (2), coupling (3), seal (4), union (5), seal (4), coupling (3), and seal (2) to supply line (1) .
Disconnect return line (7) from the work tool.
Assemble and install nipple (6), seal (2), coupling (3), seal (4), union (5), seal (4), coupling (3), and seal (2) to return line (7) .
Connect the portable hydraulic tester between nipple (6) at supply line (1) and nipple (6) at return line (7) .
Install a multitach on the engine.
Start the engine.
Place the engine speed dial in the HIGH IDLE position. Maintain the maximum no-load speed at 1980 50 rpm with the manual low idle switch OFF.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).

Depress the auxiliary pedal to the full ONE-WAY position and hold the pedal in this position for the remainder of the test.

Slowly, turn flow meter valve (9) clockwise in order to decrease the flow of oil. Record the flow when the pressure reading at pressure tap (1) reaches the pressure that is specified by the supplier of the work tool.
If the flow measurement is too high, go to Step 12. If the flow measurement is too low, go to Step 13.
The flow is higher than the specification.
Turn the engine speed dial to the LOW IDLE position and gradually increase the engine speed until the flow rate that is specified by the supplier is attained.
Record the position of the engine speed dial.
Slowly, turn relief valve adjustment screw (4)
