Ethernet Interface
The ethernet option is available for sending information to computers that use UPS View software. The ethernet option makes available remote notification of Notice and Alarm conditions. The ethernet option allows for interrogation of system status, telemetry, and events. If the ethernet LAN has Internet access, the system can send notification of Alarm Events and Notice Events via an Internet E-mail.Touching the Network Settings button brings up a dialog box allowing the operator to select and edit the IP Address and Port, Subnet Mask, or Default Gateway. A numeric keypad pops up that lets the corresponding entry to be edited. Touching "Enter" saves the entry. Touching "Cancel" aborts editing the entry.Ethernet Network Configuration and Set-Up
To configure the ethernet parameters for operation, obtain the following from your network administrator:
Static IP address
Subnet mask
Default Gateway IP AddressIf you plan on using the optional Cat UPS View monitoring software to monitor the UPS via the network, you must assign a TCP port. The UPS will also use a UDP port of a value (TCP port + 1). The TCP port and IP address settings in the UPS must match the settings in the UPS View "Connection Settings" dialog box to operate correctly.Note: The suggested port setting is 44500 but can be changed if this conflicts with other equipment on your network.Once the ethernet settings are established, the UPS should answer to a ping to its IP address.Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP

If E-mail is enabled, touching the mail settings button allows the operator to enter or edit the mail configuration. The following is the mail settings menu.E-mail Server IP Address
When the network option is installed, the system can be configured to send mail notification to predefined users whenever alarm and notice events occur. The IP address defined in this field is the address of the SMTP mail server the system uses to transmit the notification E-mail. Your network administrator can provide an IP address.Serial Port Settings

This option allows the modification of the serial port settings of the system. Serial port A and serial port B are the 2 serial ports that are in the system. The following screen shows the available serial port options.Each serial port may be configured to a modem, a printer or the view software. Only one serial port can be assigned to any given function.Baud Rate Settings
