Certain Cat® MineStar Fleet onboard machines using 304-3928 Satellite Receiver Gp LPGPS with Color Multi-Purpose Display (CMPD) or G407 displays have lost the ability to gain high precision and correct date/time from 12 August 2018, 12am Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).Mid and high precision receivers do not appear to be impacted currently (such as drills, shovels, dozers, draglines, and all autonomy sites).Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem but a permanent repair has not been defined. As an interim action, dealers experiencing the issue can follow the below instructions:
Update Health Interface Module with version 2.0.5. Refer to Service Magazine, M0097494 , "New Monitor Software for Health Interface Module Is Now Available for Certain Cat®" Products
Update VIMS3G using Special Instruction, REHS7342 , "Procedure to Configure VIMS 3G® On Certain Cat® Products" and the flash file listed for the machine application in VIMS3G Software Part Number Matrix for "LPGPS.xlsx" available on the below address.https://dealer.cat.com
