Description of Change: The overall length of the angle cylinder has been increased by 10 mm (0.394 inch). A longer rod increases the clearance between the piston and the head when the rod is fully extended. This will cause the cylinder that is retracting to stop before the cylinder that is extending. External forces on the piston retaining bolt can cause stretching. The new rod prevents failures of the piston bolt.Adaptable To: A new 168-4846 Rod replaces the former 100-4532 Rod and the 6V-8133 Bolt replaces the former 8T-0664 Bolt in the 100-6174 Angle Cylinder (Change 02). The 100-6174 Angle Cylinder (Change 02) is effective with the following models: D4H Series II Track-Type Skidder (PIN: 2AC; 3AC; 8PB; 8ZF; 9DB), 517 Track-Type Skidder (PIN: 5WW; 6PW) and D4H Series III Track-Type Tractor (PIN: 4NK; 7PK; 8PJ; 9GJ).A new 168-4846 Rod replaces the former 100-4532 Rod and the 6V-8133 Bolt replaces the former 8T-0664 Bolt in the 100-6174 Angle Cylinder (Change 03). The 100-6174 Angle Cylinder (Change 03) is effective with the DEUCE Track-Type Tractor (PIN: 7RR).The part number and the change level of the cylinder are stamped on the outside of the cylinder. The new rod must be installed in both angle cylinders when the former rod is replaced in an earlier cylinder in order to ensure proper operation.
