Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct procedure.
Drain the engine lubricating oil into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.
If necessary, remove the electric starting motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install".

Disconnect the hoses from Connections (A) and hoses from Connections (B) on oil cooler body (2).
Loosen banjo bolt (1) from oil cooler body (2).
Remove oil cooler body (2) from adapter (3).
Remove O-ring seal (7) and O-ring seal (8) from oil cooler (2).
Remove banjo bolt (1) from the oil cooler body.
Remove sealing washer (6) from banjo bolt (1).

Sequence for loosening the engine oil cooler
Loosen bolts (4) in reverse numerical order to the sequence that is shown in Illustration 3. Remove bolts (4). Support adapter (3) as the bolts are removed. Note: Bolts (4) are different lengths. Note the correct position of the bolts. Note the position of any brackets that are secured by the bolts.
Remove adapter (3) from the cylinder block.
Remove joint (5) (not shown).
