SEAL 1297291 - Caterpillar

Do not attempt to straighten the ROPS structure. Do not repair the ROPS by welding reinforcement plates to the structure.If there are any cracks in the welds, in the castings, or in any metal section of the ROPS, consult your Caterpillar dealer for repairs.
Note: Use the appropriate equipment to reach all maintenance items from the ground.

Remove access cover (1) to access the rear retaining pins. An access cover is on each side of the cab under the operator platforms.

There are 4 retaining pins (2) for the ROPS. Two retaining pins are on each side of the cab under the operator platforms. Each retaining pin is held in place with pin (3).
Inspect all the pins. Replace any damaged pins or any missing pins with only original equipment parts.
Inspect the ROPS for any loose bolts or any damaged bolts. Replace any damaged bolts or any missing bolts with only the original equipment parts.
When you operate the machine on a rough surface, the ROPS may rattle or the ROPS may make a noise. If the ROPS rattles or if the ROPS makes a noise, replace the ROPS mounting supports.
