The autolube relay is an output of the machine ECM. The relay will energize the autolube solenoid valves or the relay will de-energize the autolube solenoid valves. During the lubrication cycle, the ECM energizes the relay and the relay energizes the solenoid valves. The ECM sends a signal in order to energize the relay. Four of the five relay terminals are used. One coil terminal receives the output signal from the ECM and the other coil terminal returns the signal to the ECM at the solenoid return. The coil terminal connects to the + battery terminal of the grease reel switch. The normally open terminal connects to the solenoid valve. The normally closed terminal is not used. The relay is located in the electronics compartment behind the hydraulic tank. The autolube solenoid valve is not directly connected to the machine ECM. The autolube solenoid valve connects to the normally open contact of the relay. The solenoid valve is the on/off type. When the relay is energized, the contacts close and a + battery signal is provided in order to energize the solenoid valve. When the solenoid valve is energized, the autolube system builds pressure. When the solenoid is de-energized the grease is injected. The solenoid valve has a connector with two pins. One contact of the connector receives the energize signal from the relay. The other contact of the connector is connected to machine ground. The autolube solenoid valve is located on top of the hydraulic pump group. Start Relay

Start RelayThe start relay is an output of the ECM. The relay connects to connector contact J1-8. The start relay will engage two starter motor relays. The relays will turn the solenoid on and off. The start solenoid then controls the starting motor. After the operator turns the key start switch to the START position and the ECM decides that all starting conditions are satisfied, the ECM will then activate the relay with a + battery signal. The relay has two terminals and a connector with two contacts. The connector contact 2 of the relay receives the +battery signal from J1-8 of the ECM. The connector contact 1 of the relay is connected to the frame ground. This connection is made through the solenoid return of the ECM J1-7. One relay terminal connects to a +battery source of the machine electrical system. The other relay terminal connects to the start solenoid. The ECM records diagnostic codes that occur with the start relay as a CID 0444.
