(1) Touchscreen ObjectApplications are controlled by touching the objects on the screen. See illustration 1.Touchscreen objects function the same as mechanical push buttons.Screen objects have a variety of appearances. Screen objects may change their inner text, fill pattern, border or shape when pressed.

Ellipse, White Fill The following properties are common to most screen objects:
All screen objects are momentarily disabled after a screen change. This prevents multiple objects, in the same location on different screens, from being pressed inadvertently.
All screen objects must be released on the previous screen before objects can be pressed on the new screen.
Momentary screen objects are assigned a hold time. The hold time maintains the pressed state so that each change of state can be read by the controller at least once. The hold time varies between 0 and 1 second depending on the configured setting.The following screen objects are commonly used on the Panelview 1000:

Backspace Note: Do not touch multiple objects on the touchscreen at the same time. Touching more than one object at the same time may result in inadvertent operation.At the initial operation of the Panelview 1000, the terminal runs a series of self tests. The initial display shows the copyright information and the initial display shows the status of each self test.If an application is loaded, the terminal will display the screen that was preset prior to a reset.If an application is not loaded, the "Configuration Mode" menu appears.

If a setting is changed that requires a numeric input, a numeric entry scrachpad will appear in the center of the screen. The scrachpad shows the current value entered, and the range of possible values that can be entered. See illustration 2. Once the value is entered, press the enter key in order to return to the setting screen.During data entry, wait until the number that was entered appears in the scrachpad before entering the next number.Configuring the Terminal

Configuration parameters are set from the terminal or configuration parameters are set from the PanelBuilder32 software when the application is created. The settings that are downloaded with the application have priority over the settings of the terminal if the following option is enabled in the "Terminal Setup" dialog box of the PanelBuilder32 software.
