3. Open the side access door and remove the cover. Refer to Image1.3.1.

4. Disconnect the A/C hose at the cooler and at the cab heater unit. The hose will not be reused. Refer to Image1.4.1.

5. Mount the 422-0649 Block to front of the firewall at pre-drilled location using a 8T-4136 Bolt and 8T-4121 Washer. Tighten to a specified torque of 55 +/- 10 N.m. Refer to Image1.5.1. The bolt must be installed from the engine side of the firewall into threaded hole, as shown. Refer to Image1.5.1.

6. Assemble the 257-3226 Dryer to the 422-0649 Block. Ensure that the dryer is in the correct orientation using a 109-1633 Clip, 109-1634 Clip, 8T-4136 Bolt, and 8T-4121 Washer. Tighten to a specified torque of 55 +/- 10 N.m. Refer to Image1.6.1.

7. Remove the cap from 90 degree elbow of the 422-2260 Hose Assembly and fit the 9X-7380 O-Ring Seal. Lubricate the O-ring seal with 1U-9763 Mineral Oil.
8. Connect the 90 degree elbow of the 422-2260 Hose Assembly to the upper fitting of the dryer. Tighten the fitting to a specified torque of 14 +/- 4 N.m. Refer to Image 1.8.1.

9. Remove the cap from the 45 degree elbow of the 422-2260 Hose Assembly and fit the 9X-7380 O-Ring Seal. Lubricate the O-ring seal with 1U-9763 Mineral Oil.
10. Connect the 45 degree elbow of the 422-2260 Hose Assembly to upper fitting on A/C core. Tighten the fitting to a specified torque of 14 +/- 4 N.m. Refer to Image1.10.1.

11. Remove the cap from 90 degree elbow of the 422-2261 Hose Assembly and fit the 9X-7381 O-Ring Seal. Lubricate the O-ring seal with 1U-9763 Mineral Oil.
12. Connect the 90 degree elbow of the 422-2261 Hose Assembly to the lower connection of dryer. Tighten the fitting to a specified torque of 27 +/- 7 N.m. Refer to Image1.12.1.

13. Remove the cap from opposite elbow of the 422-2261 Hose Assembly and fit the 9X-7381 O-Ring Seal. Lubricate the O-ring seal with 1U-9763 Mineral Oil.
14. Connect the 422-2261 Hose Assembly to the cab heater unit connection. Tighten the fitting to a specified torque of 27 +/- 7 N.m. Re-use the clipping point on cooler as shown in Image1.14.1.

15. Re-install the cover plate to right hand side of the frame using four bolts and four washers that were retained. Tighten the bolts to a specified torque of 30 +/- 7 N.m.
16. Re-install the fender (on the 906H2 only), using six bolts and six washers that were retained. Tighten the bolts to a specified torque of 30 +/- 7 N.m.
17. Re-charge the air conditioning system with 1.15 kg of refrigerant. Refer to SENR5664, "All Products Air Conditioning and Heating R134a for All Caterpillar Machines", for the proper Refrigerant Recovery, System Evacuate, Oil and Refrigerant Charge.
