The crankshaft gear for upgrade to new crankshafts is serviced the same as a new crankshaft. The crankshaft gear for undersize crankshafts is not serviced with the crankshaft, unless it is an integral part of the forging. Remanufactured crankshafts have the same warranty as new crankshafts.
Also, the core acceptance criteria for both the upgrade to new and the undersize crankshafts have been simplified and made more liberal. It is no longer necessary to measure journal diameter and total bend. Only the following visual checks must be made to determine, if a crankshaft is acceptable for full credit.
- No broken crankshafts.- No visible cracks.- Not gouged or grooved in the fillet area because of contact with the connecting rod, cylinder block or main bearing cap.- No pitting due to rust on the thrust face, taper or gear diameter.1- No chromed or welded surfaces.1The chart shows the applications that remanufactured crankshafts can be used in. Because remanufactured crankshafts are not available for all applications check to make sure the "Service Part No." can be used in your application.
