Family Of EnginesDescription of Change: A new connecting rod assembly is used in the 3500 Family of Engines. The new connecting rod has a slightly longer bore for the piston pin bearing, giving more load carrying capability in the new bearing used. The new rod and new bearing are needed for any future increases in horsepower.Adaptable To: The new 7C8608 Rod Assembly can be used as a direct replacement for either the former 8N6020 or 1W4800 Rod Assembly, which have been canceled. The new rod assembly uses a new 7C8609 Piston Pin Bearing. The new rod assembly can be installed either individually or in complete sets.
