2. Remove the spacer (2).3. Remove the bolts (1) from upper cap. 4. Remove upper cap (3) and shims (4). Put identification on shims for use during the installation of lower pivot pin bearings. 5. Lower the floor jack and remove lower cap (7), lower bearing cone and cup (8), spacer (6), and upper bearing cone (5). 6. Remove upper bearing cup (9) from frame. The bearing assembly for lower pivot pin is made up of two bearing cones, two bearing cups, and a spacer, and is a specially fitted set. Each bearing cone must be installed with its own special bearing cup. Do not use any part of this set with other cups, cones, or spacers.7. Remove the lip-type seals from upper cap (3) and from lower cap (7).Install Lower Pivot Pins Bearings
1. Install the seals in upper and lower caps so the lip of each seal will be away from bearing cones when caps are installed.2. Put a multipurpose type grease on lip of seals and on the upper and lower bearing cones of pivot pin. 3. Install the upper bearing cup (1) in frame.4. Put the lower cap (4), lower bearing cone and cup (5), spacer (3), and upper bearing cone (2) on the floor jack.5. Lift the bearing cones, cup, spacer, and cap into position in frame. 6. Install the upper cap (7). Install four bolts (6) evenly spaced. Tighten the opposite bolts an equal amount until all bolts have a torque of 65 5 lb.ft. (9,0 0,7 mkg.)7. Check to be sure lower cap (4) is tight against the frame.8. Use a thickness gauge (8) to take a measurement of the gap between upper cap (7) and the frame at each of the four bolt locations.9. Remove upper cap (7). Install the cap with shims equal in thickness to the minimum gap measurement. Install and tighten bolts for upper cap to 75 10 lb.ft. 10,4 1,4 mkg.) 10. Install the spacer (9). end by: a) connection of main frames.
