Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Position turbocharger cartridge (8) to turbocharger turbine housing (11).
Install retaining plates (13) and bolts (12) to turbine housing (11). Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 40 2 N m (30 1 lb ft).

Install exhaust adapter (10) and band clamp (9) to turbocharger turbine housing (11). Tighten band clamp (9) to a torque of 9.5 1 N m (84 9 lb in).

Install O-ring seal (7) to turbocharger cartridge (8).
Use two servicemen in order to install compressor housing (4) to turbocharger cartridge (8). The weight of compressor housing (4) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).
Install retaining plates (6) (not shown) and bolts (5) in order to attach compressor housing (4) to turbocharger cartridge (8). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 40 2 N m (30 1 lb ft).

Apply Tooling (A) to the bolts and bearing surfaces of elbows (3). Install elbows (3), the gaskets, and tube assembly (2).
Install elbow (1) and the O-ring seal. End By:
Install the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
