At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
If equipped with a sound suppression arrangement, refer to Special Instructions, "Installation of the 351-3820 Sound Suppression Ar (If Equipped)" for specific panel locations and the correct removal or installation procedure.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release".
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

Remove cover (1).

Disconnect harness assembly (2). Position harness assembly (2) out of the way.

Disconnect hose assemblies (3), hose assembly (4), and tube assembly (5).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto expansion tank (6). The weight of expansion tank (6) is approximately 84 kg (185 lb).
Remove bolts (7). Remove expansion tank (6). Installation Procedure
Install expansion tank (6) in the reverse order of removal.
