Disconnect hose assemblies (7).

If the turbine housing must be rotated to remove the turbocharger, loosen the V-band clamp only enough to allow for rotation (typically 7-10 turns). If the V-band clamp is loosened excessively, the housing may contact the turbine wheel and cause damage. Contact with the housing may cause rapid wear and shorten turbocharger life.
Mark the orientation of V-band clamp (8) for installation purposes. If necessary, loosen V-band clamp (8).

Attach a suitable lifting device onto turbocharger (9). The weight of turbocharger (9) is approximately 79 kg (175 lb). Remove bolts (10). Remove turbocharger (9).

Remove O-ring seal (11) and screen assembly (12). Installation Procedure

Install O-ring seal (12). Install screen assembly (11) to Dimension (Z). Dimension (Z) is 8 0.5 mm (0.315 0.0197 inch).

Follow the procedure for bellows installation and tightening procedures. Tighten the V-band clamps on the turbine housing prior to the bellows V-band clamp to prevent any dragging or binding of the turbocharger rotating components. Contact may cause rapid wear and shorten turbocharger life.
Ensure turbocharger (9) is aligned with dowel (X) and oil drain fitting (Y). Use a suitable lifting device to install turbocharger (9). The weight of turbocharger (9) is approximately 79 kg (175 lb).
Install bolts (10).

Apply Tooling (A) onto the stud and contact surfaces of V-band clamp (8). Tighten V-band clamp (8) to a torque of 28 2 N m (248 18 lb in). Loosen V-band clamp (8) by two to three turns. Tap lightly with a suitable hammer around the diameter of V-band clamp (8). Tighten V-band clamp (8) to a final torque of 26 to 30 N m (19 to 22 lb ft).

Connect hose assemblies (7).

Connect clamps (6) and clamps (5). Connect hose (4) and clamps (3). Connect hose (2) and clamps (1).
Refill the oil inlet with clean oil. Connect hose assemblies (1).
Apply Tooling (A) onto the stud and contact surfaces of clamps (6) and clamps (5). Tighten clamps (6) and clamps (5) to a torque of 9 2 N m (80 18 lb in). Tap lightly around clamps (6) and clamps (5). Retighten clamps (6) and clamps (5) to a torque of 12 2 N m (106 18 lb in).
Ensure that the compressor wheel spins freely without binding or dragging. Contact with the housing may cause rapid wear and shorten turbocharger life.
