Inspect the condition of the alternator belt. Use a Kent Moore CompanyBT-33-97 gauge to check the tension of the alternator belt. The tension of a used alternator belt with more than 30 minutes of operation at rated speed should be 489 44 N (110 10 lb). The tension of a new alternator belt with 30 minutes of operation or less at rated speed should be 800 22 N (180 5 lb).If the alternator belt requires adjustment or replacement, proceed to Step 2.

Loosen mounting bolts (2) and adjusting locknut (4).
Turn adjusting nut (3) until the correct belt tension is reached. Tighten adjusting locknut (4) to a torque of 150 20 N m (110 15 lb ft).
Tighten mounting bolts (2).
Recheck the tension of belt (1). If the tension is incorrect, repeat the adjustment procedure. Air Conditioner Belt

Inspect the condition of the air conditioner belt. Use a Kent Moore CompanyBT-33-97 gauge to check the tension of the air conditioner belt. The tension of a used air conditioner belt with more than 30 minutes of operation at rated speed should be 711 44 N (160 10 lb). The tension of a new air conditioner belt with 30 minutes of operation or less at rated speed should be 1067 44 N (240 10 lb).If the air conditioner belt requires adjustment or replacement, proceed to Step 2.

Loosen mounting bolts (5) and adjusting locknut (8).
Turn adjusting nut (7) until the correct belt tension is reached. Tighten adjusting locknut (8) to a torque of 150 20 N m (110 15 lb ft).
Tighten mounting bolts (5).
Recheck the tension of belt (6). If the tension is incorrect, repeat the adjustment procedure.
