3406C (2WB, 4JK) Generator Set EnginesDescription of Change: Improved water pump groups are available for the above engines. Improvements to the key components of the water pump groups are:
* A unitized seal assembly (the 139-0088 Installation Tool is required).* A dust lip has been added to the oil seal to keep debris away from the primary seal (the 138-9299 Installation Tool is required).* A stronger, corrosion resistant, stainless steel shaft has been added.* The cast iron impeller has been changed to improve coolant flow around the unitized seal.* The improved housing has a cast flush channel to improve coolant flow around the seal. The weep hole is repositioned to face the block.* The improved bearing retainer has increased hardness and improved flatness for improved bearing retention.Adaptable To: The improved 135-4925 Water Pump Group is adaptable to the above 3406E Engines. The improved 135-4926 Water Pump Group is effective with the above 3406/G3406/3406B/3406C Engines. The improved, remanufactured 0R-8218 Water Pump Group is effective with the above 3406E Engines. The improved, remanufactured 0R-8217 Water Pump Group is effective with the above 3406/3406B/3406C Engines. Current production effectivity is 3406C (2WB17472-Up) Generator Set, 3406C (4TB5504-Up, 1SS198-Up) Marine, 3406C (6TB16292-Up), (4FD1207-Up) Industrial and 3406B (4RG2575-Up), (4JK256-Up) Generator Set Engines.
The improved water pump groups are direct replacements for the former water pump groups.
